You may use jQuery to find an element's ancestors by traversing up the DOM tree. A parent, grandparent, great-grandparent, and so on are all examples of ancestors.
The parents() method is used to pick all ancestor elements of an element. This function is used to locate all of the parent elements of the current element. This function returns all elements after traversing all levels up to the selected element.
The different types of ancestors and their descendants include:
Direct ancestors: parents, grandparents, and children
Indirect or collateral ancestors: siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins
Descendants: children
