  • Marketing - Marketing is an essential part of eCommerce business because it helps in generating revenue by promoting products. Ecommerce professionals need to have knowledge about various marketing channels like social media marketing, search engine optimization etc. They should be able to identify which channel will work best for their business and use it accordingly.

Some skills that are needed for an ecommerce manager are:

  • Strong understanding of marketing principles and practices
  • Strong understanding of merchandising principles and practices
  • Strong understanding of operational management principles and practices
  • Strong understanding of finance principles and practices

  • The first step to launching a career in ecommerce is to get the necessary skills for the job. This includes knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP or any other programming languages.
  • The second step is to build an online portfolio of projects that showcase your skills. This could be a website you have designed or some projects you have done for clients.
  • The third step is to apply for jobs on job boards and company websites that are hiring people with your skill set. You can also attend networking events in order to make connections with people who may be able to help you find a job.
