Right-click the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop and select Properties. Then, from the System Properties menu that displays, go to the Advanced tab and click the Environment Variables button. Select Path from the System Variables menu, then click the Edit button. The dialogue box to Edit System Variables should appear.
The path to mysql is automatically added to environment variables if you install MySQL correctly. To check this, open a command prompt and type path. You can launch mysql executable files from any command prompt location if you find mysql path in it.
