Drawbacks of using a PLC program for water tank filling control:

  • It is expensive because it requires sensors that scan the level in the well and transmit data back to the computer. - The data must be downloaded by hand every time it is received.

This is an example of an Air Water Tank, which can be used for simple tasks such as watering lawns. The tanks are designed to be used in the air and only need a small amount of water to get started.

  • A tank sensor: This is used to measure the level of water in the tank.
  • Valve controller: This component activates/deactivates a valve based on input from the tank sensor.
  • DC power supply: This component provides power for all electronics involved in the control logic.

A water tank filling control logic is a circuit that monitors the water level in a tank and controls the valve connected to the pipe supplying water into that tank.
When it's time to add water to the reservoir, a signal is sent down the wire and turns on a switch or relay. This will then close off all of the valves until it’s time to release them.
The signal can come from an external sensor, such as temperature or pressure, or it can be controlled by a user input device like a keypad or remote control.

The process is faster and requires less manpower:

  • The process is safer as there is no risk of human error in calculation or filling.
  • It saves time and money as it takes less time to fill up a tank than it takes to monitor a human employee performing the task manually.
