The most common programming method for PLCs is ladder logic. It works in the same way as a relay (combination of switches, relays, coils and contacts).
In the United States, ladder logic is the most often used programming language for programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Depending on the application, instruction lists, function block diagrams, structured text, and sequential function charts are all viable programming languages that may be more appropriate than ladder.
The easiest PLCs to learn are Rockwell TM and Directsoft TM.
