Variables that you generate or import into MATLAB from data files or other programs are stored in the workspace. The workspace's contents can be viewed and edited through the Workspace browser or the Command Window. See Create and Edit Variables for further information. After you exit MATLAB, workspace variables are lost.
A script is the most basic sort of MATLAB program. A script is a file that comprises many lines of MATLAB instructions and function calls in a sequential order. A script can be run simply putting its name into the command prompt.
Click Layout in the Environment section of the Home tab in MATLAB Toolstrip. Select Workspace from the Show drop-down menu.
