The Date object is a built-in datatype in the JavaScript programming language. It's for calculating dates and times. The new keyword is used to construct the Date object, i.e. new Date ().
JavaScript Date objects are platform-independent representations of a single point in time. A Number in a Date object represents milliseconds since January 1, 1970 UTC. Temporal, a new Date/Time API, is being developed by TC39. More information is available on the Igalia blog.
That is, in fact, how JavaScript is designed to work. The JavaScript Date is always saved in UTC, and most native functions localize the result automatically.
