The polygon primitives in Maya are the sphere, cube, cylinder, cone, plane, and torus. Because each face that describes the surface has already been generated for you, you may use polygon primitives to speed up your workflow.
Like NURBS primitives, polygon primitives represent a collection of preset surfaces. These surfaces can help you create simple items faster and get a head start on more intricate shapes.
A polygonal mesh's vertices are kept in a simple array of 3D float points, with each point having a vertex id based on the array's index. This array is used to create both edges and faces.
