Using XPath in Selenium

Selenium's XPath method allows you to browse the HTML structure of a webpage. The XPath syntax is used to find elements on web pages. In Selenium, UXPath is used to identify elements that aren't found by locators like ID, class, or name. Selenium's XPath may be applied to both HTML and XML texts.

Selenium is an open-source software that is used for automating web browsers. It can be used for multiple purposes such as testing web applications and websites, recording and playing back user actions and identifying the clickable targets of a webpage. Selenium locators are a type of selenium test element that allows you to find different objects on a webpage.

In Selenium WebDriver, the most popular location for recognising a web-element is ID. Reasons? It's a quick read. It's faster than other locators because all it has to do in the background is pick the element with the provided ID.

There Must Be No Other Element That Matches The Locator to put it another way, it should only match one element, which is the one we're interested in, and nothing else. Selenium returns the first element it discovers if multiple elements match the supplied locator.

Dynamic XPath, often known as custom XPath, is a method of uniquely locating elements. The following XPath expressions can be used to find an exact attribute or reduce the amount of matched nodes/results from a webpage using dynamic XPath: There is a sibling. There is an ancestor.
