With Selenium webdriver, we may use the xpath locator to find an element. /tagname[@attribute='value'] should be used to identify the element with xpath. /tagname[@class='value'] should be used to identify the element with xpath. There are two different kinds of xpath: relative and absolute.
XPath stands for XML path. It is a syntax or language for using the XML path expression to find any element on a web page. Using the HTML DOM structure, XPath is used to locate any element on a webpage.
The main distinction between XPath and CSS selectors is that the former allows us to traverse both forward and backward, whilst the latter only allows us to traverse ahead.
