Memory management is the feature of an operating system which controls or manages primary memory and transports processes back and forth between main memory and disc during execution. Memory management keeps track of every memory location, regardless of whether it is used by a process or is free.

Keeps track of when inventory is released or unallocated. Assists in the protection of several processes from one another.
A memory management unit (MMU), sometimes known as a paged memory management unit (PMMU), is a computer hardware unit that handles all memory references, notably translating virtual memory addresses to physical locations.
Malloc is a library function in C that is used to allocate a heap block of memory. The software uses a pointer returned by malloc to access this block of memory. When the memory is no longer required, the pointer is handed to free, which dealslocates the memory and makes it available for other uses.
